The Local Academy Council works closely with the Principal to provide an effective education for the children of Dove CE Academy. It is made up of parents, staff, local authority representatives and community LAC members.

If you have a child that attends Dove CE Academy you can be elected as a parent LAC member. Being an academy LAC member can be both rewarding and challenging. It is a great way to understands how the academy operates and to support the staff in delivering the best education for our children. You quickly develop new skills and practise existing ones.

The duties of the Local Academy Council are to set the strategic direction of the school, develop effective policies and clear objectives. Annually the LAC meet to set the school budget, and then review progress against the school’s budget and objectives. One of the most important roles of the LAC is to appoint, challenge and support the Principal.

If you can offer enthusiasm, have a strong sense of commitment and a skill or role that you feel will benefit the school and would like to support the future of the children at Dove CE Academy, then come and join the Local Authority Council.

The Chairs of the Local Academy Council are Anthony Coates and Jamie Gill

The Vice Chair of the Local Academy Council is Mr Kevin Flower
